OHL Brampton Steelheads

Future Steelheads: Christopher Garbe

August 28, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Brampton Steelheads News Release

Christopher Garbe is the second of two American-born players the Steelheads selected in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection. A native of Miller Place, New York, Garbe spent last season with the Long Island Gulls U16 team of the Atlantic Youth Hockey League. Garbe was selected in the 10th round and 165th overall by the Steelheads.

Garbe is a low-maintenance player. You may not notice him in every game, but when reading the game sheet after, he has a goal and two assists. An unassuming player, he is quietly always in the right spots on the ice. The Steelheads staff isolated Garbe as one of the few American players targeted in this draft.

Chris had great point production in the AYHL last year, scoring 23 goals and adding 20 assists for 43 points in just 29 games played.

Alongside Cayden Primeau as part of the Elite Hockey Group at the 2015 OHL Cup, Garbe came as advertised. In three games, Garbe tallied a goal and two assists, tying him for the team lead in points.
