Spikes Game Going to the Dogs (And Cats) on Bark in the Park Night Thursday

August 20, 2009 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
State College Spikes News Release

The State College Spikes are proud to present the second edition of Bob's Bark in the Park, presented by Metzger Animal Hospital, on Thursday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park as they take on the Brooklyn Cyclones (New York Mets) at 7:05 p.m.

All fans can bring their dogs to the park to experience the fun and excitement of a Spikes game while meeting other pooches at the same time. Bob the Baseball Dog will be hosting all of his canine pals, and will be on the concourse to meet them while also performing his pregame duties.

In addition to presenting Bob's Bark in the Park, Metzger Animal Hospital will present the "Revenge of the Cats" on Thursday, to help raise money for local cat rescues that need help. Every dog that attends will receive one vote which translates to cash for the rescues. While cats can't attend, you can receive a rescue vote by bringing a photo of your own cat to the game!

Plus, a real, live Bengal tiger from T and D's Cats of the World will visit Medlar Field at Lubrano Park! Fans can go out to left field to see the tiger in its cage, representing all of the cats who need help in Central Pennsylvania.

Kids enjoying Bob's Bark in the Park will also get great value on Kids Eat Free Thursday, presented by FOX 8/ABC 23. It's the final time in the 2009 Spikes regular season that kids can get a meal on the Spikes, as all fans ages 12 and under will receive a voucher good for a free hot dog, chips and small soda.

Tbe College Student 3-2-1 Special will also be in full effect, as students from Penn State, Lock Haven, Juniata and all of the other colleges and universities in central Pennsylvania can show their ID to receive $3 off their tickets (except Diamond Club) and enjoy $2 sodas and $1 hot dogs all night long.

For ticket information, visit the Medlar Field at Lubrano Park Box Office, call the Box Office toll-free at (877) 99-SPIKES, or log on to StateCollegeSpikes.com.
