Spikes' Fun-Filled Six-Game Homestand Begins on Tuesday

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - The State College Spikes return home to Medlar Field on Lubrano Park on Tuesday, August 23 to begin a six-game homestand that will offer fans of all ages an array of fun, family entertainment. Highlights of the homestand include a fantastic FIREWORKS display, a Pre-Game Team Autograph Session, and a variety of theme nights sure to bring joy to the ballpark.

The fun begins on Tuesday, when the Spikes start a three-game series with the Jamestown Jammers (Florida Marlins) on the annual Wrestling Rumble Night, celebrating the best in the squared circle. Fans will also enjoy Wednesday's Irish Heritage Night, which includes a Spikes Beverage Stein Giveaway to the first 1,000 fans of all ages, presented by P.J. Harrigan's. Thursday, the Spikes will look to enter the record books on Guinness World Record Night at the park.

The weekend holds even more mirth as the Williamsport Crosscutters (Philadelphia Phillies) restart the SawBuck Series in a three-game set. The fan-friendly promotions start with Friday's Spikes Batting Helmet Giveaway to the first 1,000 fans of all ages, presented by HealthSouth Nittany Valley Rehabilitation Hospital, as well as Wild Life Night featuring live exotic birds and other animals thanks to Shaver's Creek Environmental Center.

Saturday, fans can celebrate the decade that gave the Rubik's Cube, the Brat Pack and the DeLorean on Totally Rad '80s Night. The homestand then goes out with a blast on Sunday, with a Pre-Game Team Autograph Session and post-game FIREWORKS that will light up the skies over Happy Valley presented by Vision Creative Group.
