
Cutters Swept in Batavia Twin Bill

Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Williamsport Crosscutters were swept by the Batavia Muckdogs in a road double-header Tuesday evening, dropping both matches by a final score of 2-1.
Game One
The Cutters notched their only run in the second inning, as Harold Martinez singled and later scored on a passed ball to make it 1-0.
Batavia jumped in front in the bottom of the fourth inning of Cutters starter Perci Garner. Casey Rasmus' two-out, two-run single to right-center gave the home team a 2-1 lead.
That score would be the final, as Batavia starter Corey Baker earned the win with five effective innings of one-run baseball. Lefty Danny Miranda followed with two shutout innings of relief to earn the save.
Garner finished with five innings pitched, yielding one earned run on four hits while striking out four. He took his first loss of the 2011 season.

Game Two
The Muckdogs tallied a first-inning run using three hits and a Cutters error. Jeremy Patton knocked an RBI single to in the frame to make it 1-0.
That score would hold until the top of the sixth inning, when Francisco Diaz's two-out RBI single to center plated Aaron Altherr to tie the game 1-1.
The Muckdogs earned the victory in the bottom of the seventh, as Patton delivered a two-out RBI single to right to plate Garrett Wittels with the winning run.
Cutters starter Cody Fick went 3.2 innings, allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out three. Pete Lavin finished 3 for 4 to lead the offense.
