Portland Pirates News Release
Providence, R.I. - The Portland Pirates (6-5-0-0) tallied their fourth straight victory while ending a six-game Providence Bruins (6-3-1-0) win streak with a 4-2 victory at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, R.I. on Saturday night. Special teams accounted for three out of the four Portland goals, two of which were short-handed. The Pirates lead the American Hockey League in short-handed goals with six, twice as many as the next team.
It was a two-goal night for Captain Alex Bolduc, while Dylan Reese and Jordan Martinook each picked up 2 assists. Bolduc now leads Portland in goals and assists with five and seven, respectively.
The Pirates drew first blood when Henrik Samuelsson scored a power play goal at 16:29 in the opening period, assisted by Martinook and Reese. Portland was able to successfully kill off three penalties in the period.
Only 20 seconds into the second frame, Bolduc scored his first goal of the game, assisted by Martinook and Andrew Campbell. Nearly ten minutes later, Providence put up their first tally of the night with an unassisted short-handed goal from Justin Florek at 10:07. The Pirates fired back a minute later with a power play goal at 11:12 from Bolduc, assisted by Reese and Lucas Lessio to make it 3-1.

It was a good night in net for Pirates goalie Louis Domingue (4-1-0), who saved 24 of 26 total shots. Jeremy Smith (3-2-0) manned the net for Providence for the remainder of the game, saving 13 of 15 shots.
