Sox Split Doubleheader

Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release
The Colorado Springs Sky Sox drop game one of their doubleheader with Memphis, 3-2, on Wednesday night. The Sox got a solid start from Adam Bernero as he went 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and 1 walk while striking out 7. The Sox got all their offense in the first, scoring twice then were held off the board the rest of the game. Memphis scored the winning run in the 8th on a throwing error by SS Clint Barmes.
In game 2, the Sox allowed the Redbirds to tie the game in the top of the 4th before scoring 3 in the bottom half to take the lead for good and hold on for a 7-6 win. The Sox' offense was lead by right-fielder Brad Hawpe's 3-3 night. Hawpe had 2 doubles and a single while scoring twice and driving in one run. The Sox and 'Birds return to action Thursday in the 4th of 5 games begining at 7:05 from Sky Sox Stadium.
