Isotopes to send two to Triple-A All-Star Game

Albuquerque infielders Joe Dillon and Larry Sutton have been selected to represent the Isotopes and the Pacific Coast League at the Triple-A All-Star game on July 14 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The All-Star teams were chosen by field managers, club officials, media, and league representatives.

Sutton, the PCL selection at first base, is currently batting .347 with 14 HR and 41 RBI in 56 games with the Isotopes. He was named PCL Batter of the Week for the week of May 3-9 and was chosen as the Topps PCL Player of the Month for May after hitting .391 with nine homers and 21 RBI in 17 games during May.

Dillon will anchor the other corner position at third base after hitting .384 with 17 HR and 43 RBI in only 40 games with the Isotopes. Dillon started the year at Double-A Carolina before joining the ‘Topes on May 1 and again on May 21. He also won the PCL Batter of the Week Award, for the week of June 7-13, and became the second Isotopes player to hit for the cycle on June 14 vs. Iowa.

Sutton and Dillon have been selected as starters and will compete in the Triple-A Homer Run Derby.

The 17th annual Triple-A All-Star game between the International League and Pacific Coast League will be held on July 14 from McCoy Stadium, home of the International League's Pawtucket Red Sox. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN2 and on Sporting News Radio. In 2003, Robert Stratton was the lone Isotopes representative.

The Isotopes continue their four-game series with Oklahoma tonight. The first 2,000 fans tomorrow night will receive hats, courtesy of Pitre Hummer.
