
Sox offense continues to struggle, falls to T-Bones 8-4

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Sox offense continued to struggle on Thursday night against the Kansas City T-Bones to fall 8-4 in game three of the series at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium.
Amarillo starter Matt Lackie (0-2) got the loss, allowing six runs off six hits in three and two-thirds innings. Kansas City starter Shaun Garceau (9-6) earned the win, allowing three runs in seven innings of work.
The Sox took an early lead in the second as Tyler Goodro was hit by a pitch, took second on a Patrick Arlis single and scored on a Chuck Lofgren RBI double. Arlis crossed the plate on a Derrick Pyles sacrifice fly for a 2-0 lead.
Kansas City took the lead with four runs on three hits in the third inning for a two-run lead. Amarillo struck back in the bottom half on a Danny Gallinot sac fly for a 4-3 score.
The T-Bones extended the lead in the fourth on a Kris Sanchez solo homerun and an Enrique Cruz sacrifice fly for a 6-3 Kansas City advantage.
The Sox loaded the bases in the eighth inning, but couldn't reduce the deficit. Meanwhile, Kansas City added two more runs in the ninth for a five-run lead. Jonathan Cisneros added a solo homerun in the bottom of the ninth to finalize the score a 8-4 in favor of the T-Bones.
With the loss, the Sox fall to 45-51 while the T-Bones improve to 49-47. Friday, Amarillo will take on the T-Bones for the final game of a four-game set at 7:05pm. The game will be the final home game of the Sox 2012 season. Game time is tentative and is subject to blackout.
