Laredo Lemurs News Release

Fargo, ND - Ryan Delgado's two run homerun in the bottom of the seventh is the difference in the game as the Fargo Moorhead RedHawks go on to beat the Laredo Lemurs 2-1on Thursday night in Fargo, North Dakota.

Going into the bottom of the seventh the Lemurs held on to a 1-0 lead with Mark Haynes throwing lights out baseball. Haynes quickly got the first two batters out in the seventh, then Eric Campbell came to the plate and hit a soaring pop up into shallow left field. Lemurs shortstop Jimmy Mojica went out and leftfielder John Allen came in. With Mojica tracking the ball Allen called him off and the ball fell to the ground for a base hit. The next batter Ryan Delgado came to the plate and made the Lemurs pay as he belted a two run homerun over the left field wall to make a 2-1 RedHawks lead.

Besides giving up the long ball to Delgado, Haynes looked great. Haynes took the loss as he went eight complete, giving up two runs, on four hits, with no walks, and six strikeouts.

The RedHawks starting pitcher Tyler Herron also looked good tonight as he went seven, giving up one run, on five hits, with one walk, and five strikeouts. The only run that Herron gave up was a homerun to Anthony Scelfo, his fourth of the year.
