
Southern Conference Reserve All-Stars Announced

The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today the 12 reserve players for the Southern Conference that will skate in the 2008 CHL All-Star game scheduled for Wednesday, January 16th at the Broomfield Event Center. The Southern Conference starters were announced on Thursday and today the rest of the squad was unveiled as determined by Arizona's Marco Pietroniro, the South's head coach, and the CHL's hockey operations department.
Five teams will place the maximum three players in the game, the Laredo Bucks, the Arizona Sundogs, the New Mexico Scorpions, the Odessa Jackalopes and the Amarillo Gorillas. The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, the Austin Ice Bats and the Corpus Christi Rayz all placed one member on the all-star team.
The Sundogs will see forward Alex Leavitt (15 goals, 28 assists) participate in the game joining teammates Tyler Redenbach and Sean Sullivan who were both previously named as starters.
Both the Amarillo Gorillas and the New Mexico Scorpions will place three reserves on the squad with forward Konrad Reeder, defenseman Vladi Hartinger and goaltender Andrew Martin representing the Scorpions and forward David Nimmo and defensemen Shaun Arvai and Nate Fornataro representing the Gorillas.
The Odessa Jackalopes have a pair of players named as reserves including rookie goaltender Alexandre Vincent who is 8-2-4 this season with a 1.98 goals against average and a league-leading .939 save percentage. He will join Dominic Leveille (named as a starter) and Sebastien Thinel on the squad representing the Jacks.
The rest of the Southern Conference squad is comprised of Corpus Christi forward Brent Howarth, Austin defenseman Jason Tessier and Rio Grande Valley forward Travis Banga.
