Sound Tigers Sign Two to ATOs

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (March 30, 2014) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that forward Viktor Crus Rydberg and defenseman Kyle Burroughs have both been signed to amateur tryout contracts (ATOs)

Crus Rydberg, 19, played this season in the Ontario Hockey League with the Plymouth Whalers. In 62 regular-season games, Crus Rydberg collected 37 points (12 goals, 25 assists). He also picked up three points (one goals, two assists) in five playoff games. The Vaxjo, Sweden, native was drafted by the New York Islanders in the fifth round (136th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.

Burroughs, 18, recently finished his third complete Western Hockey League season with the Regina Pats. He also skated for the Pats in one game in 2010-11. In 184 WHL games, Burroughs had 81 points (15 goals, 66 assists). In 2013-14, the Langley, BC, native notched 40 points (eight goals, 32 assists) and was a plus-14 in 58 games played. He also had one assist in four playoff games. Burroughs was drafted by the Islanders in the seventh round (196th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.
