Jets Recall Chiarot, Hutchinson & Redmond from IceCaps

The Winnipeg Jets today announced they recalled Ben Chiarot, Michael Hutchinson and Zach Redmond from the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

Chiarot, 22, has played in 63 games with the IceCaps this season. In that span, the left-handed defenceman has recorded 17 points (5G, 12A) and 85 penalty minutes. Chiarot has played in one career NHL games - with the Jets on Nov. 2/14 vs. Chicago. He was originally drafted by the Atalanta Thrashers in the fourth round, 120th overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft.

Hutchinson, 24, has played in 22 games with the IceCaps this season for a 15-5-1 record, 2.33 goals against average and 0.923 save percentage. The Barrie, ON native has played in 109 career AHL games, between Providence and St. John's, for a 54-42-4 career record. He has also played in 28 games with the ECHL's Ontario Reign this season for a 22-4-2 record, 2.08 goals against average and 0.921 save percentage. He earned CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week honors twice this season - week ending Nov. 17/13 and Jan. 5/14.He was originally drafted by the Boston Bruins in the third round, 77th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Redmond, 25, has played in three games with the Winnipeg Jets so far this season. He has also suited up for 37 games with the IceCaps this campaign for 21 points (6G, 15A) and 26 penalty minutes. The right-handed defenceman has played in 11 career NHL games, all with Winnipeg, for four career points (1G, 3A) and 12 career penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the seventh round, 184th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
