Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - Hamilton Bulldogs defenceman Greg Pateryn scored with 51 seconds to play to cap off a three-goal third period for Hamilton and put the 'Dogs past the San Antonio Rampage 4-3 on Sunday evening at AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. The win was the second in three days for the Bulldogs (30-33-1-4) against the Rampage (27-32-3-6).

San Antonio forward Joey Crabb opened the scoring with 2:01 to go in the first period when his slap shot from the top of the left faceoff circle beat Hamilton goaltender Robert Mayer high. Forward John McFarland and defenceman John Lee had assists.

Bulldogs forward Louis Leblanc responded for Hamilton 2:32 into the second period when he potted a rebound off a point shot by defenceman Nathan Beaulieu. Forward Martin St. Pierre had a second assist on Leblanc's 13th goal of the season.

With the Rampage on the power play, defenceman Matt Gilroy put his club ahead 2-1 with a point shot that found a hole through traffic and beat Mayer at 13:55 of the second period. Defenceman Mike Mottau and forward Wade Megan had assists.

Four-and-a-half minutes into the third period, Bulldogs forward Mike Blunden notched his team co-leading 16th goal of the season to tie the game, 2-2, with assists from forward Sven Andrighetto and defenceman Joel Chouinard.

Just four minutes later, Hamilton forward Nick Tarnasky collected a rebound in tight, slid the puck to his backhand and tucked it past San Antonio goaltender Michael Houser to give the 'Dogs a 3-2 lead. Chouinard had the only assist on Tarnasky's 13th goal of the season.

With less than four minutes to play and the Bulldogs on the power play, Lee buried a shorthanded marker to tie the game, 3-3, with assists from forwards Drew Shore and Bobby Butler.

In the final minute, Andrighetto dangled down low, then hit Pateryn with a perfect pass at the point, who fired a slap shot past Houser for his 13th goal of the season to put Hamilton ahead for good, 4-3. Blunden had a second assist on the play.

Mayer made 29 saves on 32 shots in the Bulldogs net in the win. Houser stopped 22 of 26 shots for the Rampage in the loss.

Hamilton went 0-for-3 on the power play, while San Antonio went 1-for-3.
