Sound Tigers Sign Trent Campbell to PTO

CHARLOTTE, NC (Nov. 11, 2010) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced this morning that they have signed forward Trent Campbell to a professional tryout contract (PTO).

Campbell comes to the Sound Tigers from the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL where he had one goal and four assists in eight games through the early portion of the 2010-11 season. The Beauval, SK native recorded over a point per game last year with the Stingrays (20g/48a in 60 games) and appeared in three games each with the Worcester Sharks and Houston Aeros of the AHL, scoring one goal in Worcester and notching one assist for Houston. Prior to his professional debut with South Carolina in the 2007-08 season, Campbell played his collegiate hockey at Lake Superior State University where he totaled 90 points (36g/54a) in 153 games. Campbell will join the team in Charlotte today and is scheduled to make his debut with the Sound Tigers tonight against the Checkers.
