San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO (November 11, 2010)- The San Antonio Rampage blanked the Rockford IceHogs 1-0 as Rampage goaltender Matt Climie earned his second shutout of the season. San Antonio's 10-4-1-0 record is a franchise best through the first 15 games of the season and moves the Rampage into second place in the league with 21 points.

San Antonio outshot Rockford 31-18 through the first two periods yet both teams remained scoreless after 40 minutes of play. Right wing Brett MacLean, who ranks third in the league for shot attempts, led the Rampage with seven shots on net.

Rampage left wing Alex Picard broke the ice scoring the game's first goal 8:03 into the third period for a 1-0 advantage. Right wing Matt Beaudoin skated down the right wing wall before firing a shot from the right faceoff circle that was tipped in front by Picard high stick side past IceHogs goaltender Alec Richards.

With one minute remaining in the contest, Rockford head coach pulled Richards in favor of a sixth skater, yet the club was unable to capitalize on the opportunity and the Rampage solidified their win at 1-0.

Climie turned aside all 30 pucks that came his way for the shutout victory, while Richards stopped 37 of 38 Rampage shot attempts.

The Rampage return to the ice tomorrow night for the second game of a back-to-back series with the Rockford IceHogs at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
