Blues Recall Porter and Drazenovic

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager, Doug Armstrong announced today that T.J. Oshie is out indefinitely after suffering a fractured ankle in last night's loss in Columbus. The club has recalled forwards Nick Drazenovic (drah-ZEHN-oh-vihk) and Chris Porter from the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Drazenovic, 23, has played in 13 games for the Rivermen this season, ranking first on the team with six goals and is tied for third with nine points (six goals, three assists). Last season, the 6-0, 200-pound forward played in 58 games for Peoria, collecting 39 points (19 goals, 20 assists) along with 40 penalty minutes. Drazenovic tied for first on the Rivermen with a career-high 19 goals last season. The Prince George, British Columbia native was originally drafted by the Blues in the sixth round, 171st overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He will wear jersey number 47.

Porter, 26, has made 14 appearances for the Rivermen this season, tying for second on the team with four goals and third with nine points (four goals, five assists). Last season, the 6'1, 200-pound forward played in 80 games for Peoria and totaled a career high, 13 goals to go along with 18 assists for 31 points. The Toronto, ON native was originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the ninth round, 282nd overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He was signed as a free agent by St. Louis on August 21, 2007. Porter will wear jersey number 32.

Drazenovic and Porter join Nathan Oystrick and Ian Cole, who have all played games with Peoria this season, on the Blues roster. Erik Johnson, Brad Winchester, Alex Pietrangelo, Tyson Strachan, David Backes and Roman Polak have all spent time previously with the Rivermen.
