Sound Tigers Make Five Transactions

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Feb. 24, 2011) ‚¬" The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced the following five player transactions today; Forward Jeremy Colliton cleared waivers this afternoon and was returned to the Sound Tigers, forward Brady Leisenring and defenseman Rob Kwiet were released from their professional tryout contracts, and defensemen Benn Olson and Chris Frank have signed PTO's with the Sound Tigers.

Colliton returns to the Sound Tigers after earning his first NHL recall of the year on Jan. 7. The Blackie, Alta. native appeared in 15 games with the Islanders and recorded two goals and one assist in addition to 10 penalty minutes.

Leisenring completes his third stint this season with the Sound Tigers. The 5'11", 190-pound forward has two assists in 14 games with the Sound Tigers this year. Leisenring returns to ECHL affiliate Kalamazoo where he shows five goals and seven assists in 19 games. Kwiet returns to the Reading Royals after appearing in the Sound Tigers 4-1 win last night against Providence in which he recorded no points and four penalty minutes.

Olson comes to the Sound Tigers from the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL. A 6'4", 215-pound defenseman, the Port McNeil, B.C. native has four points (one goal, three assists) and 153 penalty minutes in 43 games this season. Olson also appeared in one game this season with the Milwaukee Admirals.

Frank, 25, makes his second appearance in the AHL and first since making his AHL debut with San Antonio during the 2008-09 season. The 6'1", 230-pound defenseman has dressed in 21 games this season with the ECHL's Elmira Jackals and has three assists and 87 penalty minutes in 21 games.
