Heat Assign Trio

Abbotsford Heat News Release


ABBOTSFORD BC - The Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League, in conjunction with the Calgary Flames (NHL), has today assigned defenseman Josh Meyers and forward Ryley Grantham to the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL. Forward Bryan Cameron has been assigned to the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL.

Meyers, 25, from Alexandria, MN, is in his second season with the Heat. This season, Meyers has appeared in 36 games for Abbotsford, scoring 2 goals and adding seven assists for nine points. Meyers had a +/- rating of -5 as well as 35 PIM.

Grantham, 23, is the pride of Hanna, AB, and scored the first goal in Abbotsford Heat history back on October 9, 2009 versus the San Antonio Rampage. This season, Grantham has skated in 22 games for the Heat, posting two assists and 29 penalty minutes.

Cameron, 21, hails from Brampton, ON and is in his first season with the Heat. In his rookie campaign, Cameron has appeared in 52 games, scoring six goals and setting up seven others for 13 points.

HEAT SIGN MacMURCHY to PTO

ABBOTSFORD BC - The Abbotsford Heat also announce this morning the signing of forward Ryan MacMurchy to a Professional Tryout (PTO). MacMurchy, 27, from Regina, SK, has played in Victoria with the Salmon Kings of the ECHL this season, posting 16 goals and adding 17 assists for 33 points in 39 games. MacMurchy has also spent time in the AHL with the Springfield Falcons and the Peoria Rivermen.
