The Bridgeport Sound Tigers erupted for five third period goals to come from behind and defeat the visiting Philadelphia Phantoms 5-4 before 4,348 fans at the Arena at Harbor Yard on Saturday night. The Sound Tigers improved to 29-26-1-5 and maintained their lead in the race for the East Division's fourth and final playoff spot by one point over Albany. The Phantoms, meanwhile, dropped to 24-30-2-6 and slipped eight points out of the playoff picture.

The Sound Tigers tied a franchise record with five goals in a period and in doing so ended a six game winless streak.

Eric Boguniecki had a goal and three assists to power the Sound Tigers' comeback. Down 2-0 heading into the third period, Bridgeport scored twice in a span of 59 seconds to tie the game by the 2:12 mark of the final period. Steve Regier got the Sound Tigers on the board with his 15th goal of the season just 49 seconds into the third and Jamie Johnson notched his third goal at 1:48 to tie the game. Allan Rourke fired a slap shot past Philly goaltender Scott Munroe during a power play for a 3-2 lead at 6:35. Regier set a screen in front of the net as Rourke recorded his fifth tally.

The Phantoms re-tied the game when Mark Cullen scored his 10th on the power play at 9:07. Boguniecki gave the Sound Tigers a 4-3 lead when he buried a rebound on a 5-on-3 power play at the 12:38 mark. Frans Nielsen extended the lead to 5-3 at the 17:00 mark with his 15th goal, on the power play, set up by Regier and Boguniecki.

Philadelphia's Eric Meloche scored a shorthanded goal assisted by Matt Ellison to get the Phantoms within 5-4 just 17 seconds after Nielsen's insurance marker.

Mark Wotton had a pair of assists and fellow Sound Tiger Dustin VanBallegooie recorded his second assist in just his third American Hockey League game.

Triston Grant and Newtown, Conn. native Pete Zingoni gave the Phantoms a 2-0 lead on second period goals. Philly's John Slaney had a three point night with a trio of assists.

The Phantoms were 2-for-2 on the power play and the Sound Tigers were 3-for-14 in a game loaded with penalty minutes - 146 to be exact. The Phantoms were accountable for 115 penalty minutes and most were in the waning minutes of the game.
