Fans Invited To Sham-Rock With Knights

The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights are celebrating St. Patrick's Day by inviting fans to "Sham-Rock with the Knights" on Saturday, March 17th as they host the Peoria Rivermen at 7:00 p.m.

For just $10, fans can take part in the event which will include a bus ride from Pauli's at 40th and Leavenworth, a tailgate party with corned beef and cabbage along with Leprechauns, music, games for the kids and prizes. Beverages will be available to purchase. The tailgate party will be in the parking lot at the corner of 19th and Dodge Streets, diagonally across from the Civic Auditorium. The event also includes a post-game bus ride back to Pauli's.

Additionally, high school students are invited to take part in the event. The group with the best St. Patrick's Day outfits will receive a prize.

To publicize the event, Knights' players Carsen Germyn, Dustin Boyd, Andrei Taratukhin and Brandon Prust will take part in a caravan around Omaha on Monday, March 12 beginning at 12:30 p.m. The players will be stopping at The Old Market at 12:40 p.m. and at Village Pointe at 2:00 p.m.

The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights now head to the road for a brief one game road trip to Milwaukee on Wednesday, March 14th at 7:00 p.m. All the action can be heard live on 1420 KOTK and on the internet at omahaaksarbenknights.com. The game also can be seen on-line through the B2 Networks link on the Knights' web site. The Knights return to the Civic Auditorium Friday, March 16th when they host the West division leading Chicago Wolves. All the action begins at 7:00.

Tickets for all remaining Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' regular season games are on sale at the Omaha Civic Auditorium box office Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tickets also are available through all Ticketmaster outlets and by phone at (402) 422-1212. Kids 12 and under get in free with a paid adult on tickets purchased after 5:00 p.m. Other restrictions apply.
