TORONTO, ON - Goaltender Philippe Sauve turned aside all of the 31 shots he faced to lead the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 1-0 shutout victory over the Toronto Marlies on Saturday night at Ricoh Coliseum. The win improves Hamilton's record to 36-22-2-4 on the season.

After a scoreless opening frame and 19:47 without a goal in the second period, Kyle Chipchura broke the goose egg with only 13 seconds remaining in the middle stanza. Chipchura banked a shot into the net off a Marlies defender for his 10th tally of the season. The goal, assisted by Matt D'Agostini, gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead that they wouldn't relinquish.

Between the pipes, Sauve, who was named the game's first star, now has two wins and a shutout in his first two games as a Bulldog. Justin Pogge was named second star of the game with 27 saves on 28 shots in a losing effort for the Marlies.

Hamilton was 0-for-5 on the power play while Toronto also went 0-for-5 with the extra-man.
