
Sound Tigers Add Yale University Product

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers, proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, announced today Yale University product Ryan Hitchcock has agreed to terms on an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO).
Hitchcock, 21, collected a career-high 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) in 31 games this season while serving as Yale's captain during his senior campaign. The Manhasset, N.Y. native recorded 68 points (21 goals, 47 assists) and a plus-10 rating in 103 career games with the Bulldogs, including a career-high eight goals in 2014-15. Hitchcock also led all newcomers with 15 points that season and earned the Martin Dwyer III Award as Yale's rookie MVP.
In addition, the 5'10, 180-pound forward helped Team USA capture a Bronze Medal at the 2015 U20 World Junior Championships and led Team USA to a Gold Medal at the 2014 U18 World Junior Championships.
Prior to attending Yale, Hitchcock skated in the U.S. National Development Program from 2012-14 and played bantam hockey with the Long Island Gulls.
Next Time Out: The Sound Tigers conclude a four-game road trip tomorrow with a 7:05 p.m. matchup against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at PPL Center. Fans can follow all of the live action via the Sound Tigers Radio Network and AHL Live, beginning with the pre-game show at 6:45 p.m.
ComiConn Night: Your favorite comic book characters and superheroes will take over Webster Bank Arena this Saturday when the Sound Tigers host "ComiConn Night" against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at 7:30 p.m. In addition, a portion of ticket sales and concessions proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Connecticut to help grant future wishes for kids in the state.
Pucks 'N Paws: Bring your dog to Webster Bank Arena this Sunday at 3 p.m. for the popular Pucks 'N Paws Day, presented by VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Centers (Shoreline and VREC). The Sound Tigers will face the Springfield Thunderbirds and all fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the game. In addition, there will be several animal welfare organizations on hand to showcase pets that are available for adoption.
