Heat Comeback Falls Just Short in 3-1 Loss
March 8, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Stockton Heat News Release
Stockton, Calif. - For the third time in as many games the Heat needed a come-from-behind effort to get things tied up but in the end, Ontario's Cal Petersen stopped 18 shots in the third period to hold off the Heat in Ontario's 3-1 win at Stockton Arena on Wednesday. Things started for the Heat as they have in their last three games, with the visitors getting on the board early, thanks to two goals in the first half of the initial period. Ryan Lomberg would halve the deficit with his first goal for the Heat since January, but it'd be as close as the Heat would get as Petersen shut the door and Sam Herr iced the game with his empty net goal. Heat goalie Ryan Faragher was dazzling in his appearance for the Heat, making countless saves to keep his team in the game and give the club a chance to comeback. Faragher ended the evening stopping 34 Ontario shots. The Heat head down to Rabobank Arena to take on the Bakersfield Condors this Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the season finale between the two rivals before returning for Pucks & Paws on Sunday, March 11, hosting the Cleveland Monsters for the first time at Stockton Arena.
