Ottawa, ON - For the first time this season, the Ottawa Titans (13-14) won their third straight game - defeating the division-leading New York Boulders (18-8) by a 4-3 final on Tuesday.

The red-hot Boulders wasted little time in the top of the first against Titans starter Scott Prins (ND, 0-2) in the series opener - getting a leadoff solo shot from Austin Dennis to take an early 1-0 lead.

Prins would then be in a battle through the next trio of innings - navigating through a bases-loaded jam in the second - followed by traffic aboard in the third inning - to get out of another bases-loaded situation in the fourth. Overall, Prins kept the Titans within striking distance in the game's early stages.

In the fourth, the offence finally solved Blaine Traxel (ND, 4-0) by connecting for a pair of runs on three hits. Following a leadoff double from Taylor Wright and a walk to Jason Dicochea - RBI singles from Michael Fuhrman and Jamey Smart gave the Titans a 2-1 lead.

Loading the bases for the third time in the game against Prins in the fifth, a double play ball off the bat of Joe DeLuca resulted in the tying run before an Isaac Bellony RBI single put the Boulders back in front 3-2.

Prins' night came to an end after five - allowing three runs on eight hits, walking three, and striking out five in the no-decision.

Fuhrman connected for his second RBI single in the game to tie the score off Traxel in the sixth - plating a Taylor Wright two-out walk. 12 of Fuhrman's 13 RBI of the season have come at home.

After knocking out one of the top starters statistically in the league after five - Jake Guenther greeted right-hander Peter Allegro (loss, 0-2) with a go-ahead leadoff solo homer to put the Titans ahead 4-3. Guenther's third homer of the season came with a little assistance from Boulders right-fielder Casey Dana - who's leap at the wall guided the baseball over the fence to score the eventual winning run.

Bryan Peña (win, 1-3) tossed two dominant shutout innings to earn his first win of the season - setting up Matt Dallas and Erasmo Piñales (save, 7) to lock things down to close out the contest.

In the win, Taylor Wright went 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of runs scored while Michael Fuhrman had a 2-for-3 night with two RBI - while Jackie Urbaez extended his on-base streak to 21 games with an eighth inning walk.

The Ottawa Titans continue their six-game homestand with the second of three against the New York Boulders on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. from Ottawa Stadium. All the action can be heard on CKDJ 107.9 and 94,5 Unique FM and live streamed on Flo Baseball.
