Orlando Solar Bears News Release
Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that thirteen dancers have been selected for the 2013-14 Orlando Solar Bears Dance Team.
The Solar Bears held auditions on Saturday, August 17, at the RDV Sportsplex. Over 30 dancers attended the auditions, and 13 dancers have been selected for the 2013-14 team. Six of the dancers selected for this year's squad were members of last season's dance team. The 2013-14 team consists of Alyssa, Amanda, Ashley, Colleen, Dakota, Erika, Gaby, Jessica, Katie, Kristie, Kristin, Sarah, and Sasha.
In addition to performing on game nights, last year the team participated in several community events including the Pride Parade, Veteran's Day Parade, and Citrus Bowl Parade. The team expects to be even more active in the community this year.
"I was very impressed with the amount of talented dancers that participated in this year's tryouts," said Solar Bears Entertainment Coordinator Sam Piotrowski. "We are excited about the passion and enthusiasm that this group brings to the Solar Bears organization."
The Orlando Solar Bears, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, play all of their home games at the 2012 Street and Smith's Sports Business Journal Sports Facility of the Year, the Amway Center.
