Snappers Win Third Straight With 5-4 Win Over Timber Rattlers

BELOIT, WI - The Beloit Snappers (26-26) did not need a walk-off Friday night as they worked back to .500 with a 5-4 over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (23-28) to secure their third straight win.

The Snappers scored in the top of the first inning with an RBI groundout from Troy Johnston, giving Beloit a 1-0 lead. Beloit held onto that lead until the top of the sixth inning when Garrett Mitchell scored for Wisconsin on an RBI from Thomas Dillard to tie the game.

In a 1-1 game, the Snappers put together a four-run seventh inning with an RBI double from Thomas Jones and a three-run home run from Marcos Rivera, his second of the year, to give Beloit a 5-1 lead.

The Timber Rattlers fought back with a two-run home run from Dillard in the eighth inning and a lead-off home run from LG Castillo in the ninth. Up 5-4, Jackson Rose collected the final three outs and gave Beloit a 5-4 win over Wisconsin.

Beloit's Top Performers: Zach King threw seven innings with just one run and eight strikeouts. He set a season-high in innings and tied his season-high with eight punchouts. Bubba Hollins had a 2-for-3 night with a double and a run. Rivera was 1-for-3 with a three-run home run.

- Sunday, July 4 - is Family Funday. 2-for-1 select seltzers (White Claw - Mango and Black Cherry, Vizzy and Truly), kids run the bases after the game, and families can have a catch in the outfield. Following Sunday's game fans are allowed to stay and watch the Beloit Janesville Symphony Orchestra perform and a special 4th of July fireworks show.
