Beloit Sky Carp News Release
On Sunday, August 3rd, the Snappers will be hosting their first ever sleepover on the Pohlman Field outfield grass. This once in a lifetime event will take place after the Snappers take on the Lansing Lugnuts at 2:00pm and it is open to fans of all ages. Best of all, this event is totally FREE! Sunday, August 3rd is also Rickie Weeks bobblehead giveaway day. The first 500 fans through the gates will receive a wristband good for ONE Rickie Weeks bobblehead. After the fifth inning has completed, any fan with a wristband will then receive their complimentary Rickie Weeks bobblehead, courtesy of Mercy Health System.
Once the game is completed, fans will have the chance to run the bases and play catch on the field. Those fans who are participating in the sleepover will then be able to start setting up their camp on the outfield grass. Any child under 18 must be under parental supervision at all times.
The theme of this year's sleep over is "Luau" with the best decorated campsite receiving an award at 8:00pm. Other activities at the sleepover include a whiffle ball game, bean bags, movie and more. The main concession stand will also be open until midnight for those interested in getting a late night snack.
The Pohlman Field gates will be locked at 11:00pm and will remain locked until 7:00am. The Snappers WILL provide breakfast to those saying over on the right field deck. All those in attendance must leave Pohlman Field by 9:00am.
