
Snappers Swept By Chiefs In Doubleheader 8-1, 11-9

BELOIT, Wisconsin -- After taking a 2-1 series lead on Friday's walk-off, the Beloit Snappers (12-11) were swept in a doubleheader on Saturday by the Peoria Chiefs (9-14) with final scores of 8-1 and 11-9.
GAME ONE:
Beloit scored in the bottom of the first inning on a Conine RBI base hit, but Peoria would score eight unanswered and win 8-1. Zach King took the loss, giving up three runs in the fourth.
GAME TWO:
Peoria came out hot. The Chiefs scored six runs through five innings and added six more in the top of the seventh inning. Beloit tried to rally. The Snappers scored nine runs in the bottom half of the final frame. Alas, the Chiefs held on for the 11-9 victory.
Beloit's Top Performer: Conine extended his hitting streak to nine straight games.
The Snappers are back in action Sunday against the Peoria Chiefs with the first pitch slated for 2:05 p.m. Sunday is Family Funday. Kids can run the bases after the game and play catch on the field.
