
Snappers Lose Second Straight

Beloit starting pitcher Kyle Waldrop retired the first two batters he faced in the top of the first. Three straight hits by the Chiefs gave them a 2-0 lead after the top of the first. The Snappers cut the lead to 2-1 in the third inning, when Caleb Moore hit an RBI single to score Drew Thompson. Peoria took a 3-1 lead, after scoring a run on an RBI ground out in the fifth. In the seventh, Thompson singled in Steve Tolleson to cut the lead to 3-2. The Chiefs added two insurance runs in the eighth and one in the ninth, leading 6-2 after the top of the ninth. Reliever Ed Campusano retired the Snappers in order to close out the win for Peoria. Henry Sanchez was three for four at the plate.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers and Chiefs play game two of this four game series Tuesday, April 18 at Pohlman Field. The first pitch is set for 6:30 pm.
