Notes: In a rematch of the 2007 Midwest League Championship Series, the West Michigan Whitecaps came out on top of the first game of a three-game series with the Beloit Snappers, 2-1. Beloit's Michael Tarsi went the distance, but still picked up the loss, allowing just two runs off six hits.

West Michigan got their lone two runs off Tarsi in the bottom of the third inning. Rehabbing Tigers outfielder Curtis Granderson delivered an RBI-triple to right and was driven home one batter later on a sacrifice fly to center. Granderson's RBI-run combination put the Whitecaps ahead 2-0.

Beloit battled back to within one in the top of the fifth inning off the bat of Deibinson Romero. Romero blasted his first homer of the season over the left field wall to make it a 2-1 ballgame.

Unfortunately, that would be all the offense Beloit would muster, as they went on to drop the first game of the '07 championship rematch, 2-1.

Beloit's Michael Tarsi picked up his fourth loss of the season, although he looked impressive, striking out three and only walking one.
