
Gutierrez Placed on DL; Chavez Recalled

Burlington, IA (April 22, 2008) - The Burlington Bees have announced the first roster move of the 2008 season. Danny Gutierrez, who was the opening night pitcher for the Bees, has been placed on the Disabled list. Right-handed pitcher Chris Chavez has been recalled from extended spring training.
Chavez, who was signed by the Royals as a non-drafted free agent in 2006, played last season at Idaho Falls. He appeared in 15 games and had a record of 3-2 with a 3.41 ERA. In 2006, he played for the Surprise Royals where he went 1-0 with a 4.12 ERA and one save. He has a career 3.60 ERA.
