Peoria Chiefs News Release
The Peoria Chiefs will be hosting "Pink in the Park" on Saturday, April 26th, at 6:30 pm to promote breast cancer awareness. As they take on the Fort Wayne Wizards, fans will be able to participate in activities throughout the game to show their support and compassion for breast cancer victims and survivors everywhere.
The Chiefs will be wearing pink jerseys, which will be auctioned off on the concourse during the game in a silent auction. A live auction will take place following the game, giving fans the chance to bid on a pink game-worn jersey signed by Chiefs Manager Ryne Sandberg and a pink jersey signed by the entire Peoria Chiefs team. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
"Pink in the Park" will be sponsored by Komen for the Cure, which is the largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all, and energize science to find the cures. Komen for the Cure is the world's largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
