JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Left-handed pitcher Chipper Smith has been transferred from High-A Jupiter to Jacksonville. This season Smith is 1-3 with a 1.65 ERA in 12 appearances and one start with the Hammerheads. Smith was selected by the Marlins in the 38th round of the 2012 draft out of Cumberland University (Tenn.).

The Suns roster now stands at 25 active players.

The Suns begin a five-game series with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Suns send out right-hander Jose Urena (3-2, 5.63) while the BayBears will counter with right-hander Daniel Corcino (3-3, 3.97) for Thursday's series opener at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.
