College Park Skyhawks News Release

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - The College Park Skyhawks (11-12) defeated the Greensboro Swarm (8-15), 120-117, at the Gateway Center Arena on Thursday during Education Day presented by CareSource. Four hundred students from three different schools attended the game, and school administrators competed for donations on behalf of CareSource at halftime. The Skyhawks and Swarm will meet again on Saturday in College Park for Esports Night, with tip-off set for 6:30 p.m. ET.

Chris Silva led the Skyhawks with a career-high 33 points (13-17 FG) to go along with 15 rebounds, three steals, and three blocks in 33 minutes. Per Elias Sports, Silva is the third player in NBA G League history to record at least 33/15/3/3 in a game (Jordan Hamilton on 12/27/14 and Malcolm Thomas on 11/23/13).

Tyrese Martin, on assignment from the Hawks, also secured his 10th double-double of the season with 16 points (7-15 FG) and 10 rebounds in 38 minutes.

The Skyhawks got ahead to an early lead in the first quarter, finishing 33-22 after one period. It was the seventh time this season that the Skyhawks had gained a 10+ point advantage after one quarter. Starting backcourt partners Brandon Williams and Langston Galloway each tallied seven points to open the contest.

The Skyhawks narrowly edged the Swarm in the second quarter, 29-28, to take a 62-50 lead into the locker room at half. It marked College Park's 17th halftime lead in the double digits, and the Skyhawks are now 16-1 on the year when holding a 10+ point lead at halftime.

Greensboro came back in the third quarter, scoring 43 points and converting on nine of their 11 attempts from three to take a 93-90 lead before the final period.

Silva's heroics helped the Skyhawks retake the lead in the fourth quarter and hold on to get their 11th win of the regular season, pouring in 12 points and grabbing eight rebounds in the final period. Brandon Williams also hit a mid-range jumper after creating space for himself with seven seconds left to give the Skyhawks the 120-117 lead.

The Skyhawks held the Swarm to 24 points in the fourth quarter on 8-20 FG (.400 FG%) and 1-7 3FG (.143 3FG%).

"We did much better defensively in the fourth quarter and that sealed it for us," said Skyhawks Head Coach Steve Gansey.

The Swarm were paced by Xavier Sneed, who tallied 23 points including 6-10 3FGs. Aaron Epps and Kobi Simmons poured in 19 and 18 points, respectively, off the bench.

Saturday's rematch with the Swarm is the Skyhawks' Esports Night, which will include presence from Hawks Talon GC, the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks. The Skyhawks will then host two games against G League Ignite on Wednesday, March 8 and Thursday, March 9. Both games will begin at 7 p.m. ET.
