Skyforce-Knights of Columbus to Host Free Throw Contests

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Jan. 13, 2012) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce and two local Knights of Columbus councils have partnered up to host free throw contests in conjunction with the 2012 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. All boys and girls ages 10-14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition. Each youngster may compete in only one council competition.
Below are dates and times of upcoming local competitions:

Sunday, Jan. 15 St. Michael's Parish (1600 S. Marion Rd.) 1-2:30 p.m. (12:30 p.m. registration)
Sunday, Jan. 22 St. Lambert Parish (1000 S. Bahnson Ave.) 1-2:30 p.m. (12:30 p.m. registration)
All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent. Ten winners from each council (one boy and girl from each age group) will advance to the district level.
The district competition will be held at the Sioux Falls Arena on Sunday, Feb. 19 from 11:30-1:30 p.m. (11 a.m. registration). District winners will receive two free tickets to that afternoon's Skyforce game against the Tulsa 66ers at 3 p.m. and be recognized at halftime. All K of C members can attend the game for only $10 ($15 value). Kids can participate in the pregame fan tunnel and shoot a free throw on the Skyforce court after the game.
