Erie BayHawks News Release

Erie, Pennsylvania, Friday, January 13 - The Erie BayHawks used a big fourth quarter comeback capped off with a Chris Daniels 3-pointer at the buzzer to down the visiting Texas Legends 118-115 at Tullio Arena on Friday night.

Texas held possession with 24.8 seconds remaining and the game tied at 115 apiece. The Legends held the ball in an effort to take the game's final shot but the BayHawks would alter Matt Roger's layup with just over a second remaining to force a shot clock violation, giving Erie one final chance in regulation with .8 seconds on the game clock.

Following an Erie timeout, Erie coach Jay Larranaga drew up a play to go to his big man, Daniels, in the corner and to the delight of the home crowd Daniels nailed a 3-pointer as time expired to secure the comeback victory.

Midway through the second quarter a BayHawks win seemed unlikely as the home team trailed by 20 points. Booker Woodfox came off the bench for Texas to score 15 first half points to help the Legends hold a ten point margin at intermission, 69-59.

Texas increased their lead once again in the third quarter going up by 14 points heading to the final frame, but Erie saved the best for last as they outscored the Legends 35-18 in the final 12 minutes to get the victory and improve to 9-11.

Erie was lead by Devin Green with 23 points, Tirrell Baines came off the bench and added 21 points and Kyle Goldcamp notched a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Daniels finished with 16 points and D.J. Kennedy added 14.

Sean Williams had a game-high 29 points and Woodfox finished with 20 points as Texas fell to 7-13.

The same two teams face off again on Saturday night at Tullio Arena with tip off set for 7pm.
