Bobbitt Brings Back Stampede

BOISE, Idaho - Tony Bobbitt scored the last 11 points for the Idaho Stampede, finishing the game with a team-high 21 points, including three three-pointers to pull the Stampede within two, ahead by one and ahead by four and the Stampede (8-11) beat the Los Angeles D-Fenders 113-107.

The Cincinnati product and two-year player for the College of Southern Idaho drained a three-pointer with 2:51 left to get Idaho to within two, then made another three just 35 seconds later to put the Stampede ahead for good 108-107. Bobbitt made his last three of the game (5-8 3FG for the game) with 46.3 left, before sealing the win with two free throws. The Stampede outscored the D-Fenders 33-15 in the final stanza and the home team trailed by as many as 18 with just over five minutes left in the third quarter.

The crowd of 2,897 celebrated the win, the Stampede's first home win since Dec. 16 against Canton, breaking Los Angeles' seven-game winning streak. Mikki Moore had 11 rebounds and four points, while Blazers assignee Armon Johnson had 14 points, eight assists and seven rebounds - Bobbitt's last three threes were all on assists from Johnson.

Idaho shot 59.7 percent from the floor, including 45.8 percent (11-of-24) from behind the three-point line. Terrico White had 17 points off the bench and Seth Tarver and Paul Carter each added 12 as subs. Nuggets assignee Jordan Hamilton had 12 points in 20 minutes.

Los Angeles had six players finish in double-figures with Courtney Fortson leading the way with 21 points and seven assists.

Idaho plays the D-Fenders tomorrow at 7 p.m. at CenturyLink Arena.
