Tulsa's Rally Falls Short in Double-OT at Dakota

BISMARCK, ND - Marcus Lewis posted 11 points and 12 rebounds for his 11th double-double of the season and reserve Dwight Buycks added a game-high 24 points and seven assists, but the Tulsa 66ers (10-9) fell short on the road to the Dakota Wizards (8-9) in double-overtime 113-109 inside the Bismarck Civic Center Friday night.

Tulsa trailed by as many as 19 points in the contest, including 11 with three minutes to play in regulation, to force the first overtime period. It marked the first overtime contest for both squads this season.

For the second consecutive game six players scored in double figures for Tulsa, including Jerome Dyson with 23, Larry Owens and Xavier Alexander with 17 and Nkem Ojougboh with 10.

Offensively, the 66ers tallied 16 assists as a team. On the defensive end, Tulsa forced 21 turnovers and created 12 steals, including three thefts from Buycks.

Leading Dakota was Mike Anderson with 24 points and Curtis Withers with nine rebounds.

The 66ers return to action Sunday, Jan. 15, with a road contest against the Iowa Energy at 4 p.m. CT. The game can be seen live online via webcast at nba.com/futurecast and can be heard in Tulsa on KAKC 1300 AM.
