Sioux Falls, S.D. (January 20, 2009) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired forward Chris Ellis from the Tulsa 66ers in exchange for forward Gary Forbes. The active roster now stands at nine players.
Ellis averaged 6.7 points and 5.2 rebounds in 20 games (six starts) with the Tulsa 66ers this season. He holds career averages of 5.9 points and 4.6 rebounds in 75 games with the Tulsa 66ers the past three seasons. The 6-9, 265-pound forward participated in NBA summer league with the Denver Nuggets (2006) and Portland Trail Blazers (2007, 2008) and was also invited to training camp with the Trail Blazers in the fall of 2007.
The Skyforce's next game is on Thursday, Jan. 22 on the road against the Erie BayHawks. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT at the Tullio Arena.
