CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - For the second time this week, the Sky Carp split a twinbill with the Kernels.

Yiddi Cappe cracked his second home run of the season, a three-run shot that busted the 2-2 tie. Later in the inning, Josh Zamora put the finishing touches on the rally later in the inning with a three-run blast of his own.

Karson Milbrandt got the start and allowed two runs in 5 1-3 innings of work. Evan Taylor (1-0) picked up the win with 1 2-3 innings of scoreless relief.

In the nightcap, the Sky Carp got the scoring started on a sacrifice fly by Chase Luttrell, but the Kernels scored eight straight runs to put the game away and take a four-to-two lead in the seven-game series.
