Skeeters Trade for Renny Osuna

SUGAR LAND, Texas - The Sugar Land Skeeters and manager Gary Gaetti announced the acquisition of Renny Osuna from Southern Maryland prior to the contest against the Blue Crabs on Saturday. Osuna will dress for the Skeeters in tonight's contest.

Osuna, 30, was hitting .235 in 42 games with Southern Maryland this season, scoring 13 runs and driving in 18 while swiping seven bags. He was drafted in the 32nd-round of the 2005 draft by the Texas Rangers out of New Mexico Junior College. He was a college teammate of fellow Skeeter, John Lujan. A nine-year veteran of the minor leagues, Osuna advanced as high as Double-A with the Rangers and Angels in 2011-12. Osuna is a career .286 hitter with 358 RBI and 130 stolen bases.
