DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars President John Pettit today announced that the Iowa Stars will hold a FREE 'Skate with the Stars' on Saturday, December 9th. This free event is open to the entire public and will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 at Wells Fargo Arena.
In an effort to help the United States Marines Corps and the overwhelming demand for this year's Toys for Tots Drive, the Iowa Stars again ask for their fans to help-out the surrounding Des Moines community. All fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to Saturday's event and help the Stars help those less fortunate.
Don't miss your chance to skate on the very same ice and alongside your Iowa Stars! Skate side-by-side the future stars of tomorrow's NHL, today!
Saturday's Details:
1. Will run from 2:30 to 4:30 PM
2. Autographs and a meet in greet with players will be available for fans not wanting to skate
3. Fans can enter Wells Fargo Arena through the North, South and Skywalk entrances
4. Free Parking in the lot on the north side of the arena
5. All skaters must bring their own skates. Rentals will not be available.
6. Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots Donation
7. Concessions will be open
8. Merchandise will be available
IOWA STARS INFO: The Stars hit the road again for another game against the Chicago Wolves. Iowa will play the Wolves in Rosemont, Illinois on Tuesday, December 5th. They then return home to Wells Fargo Arena for a Tuesday, December 12th game against those same Wolves. On Tuesday the 12th, as part of Getaway Tuesdays, the Stars will be giving away a FREE roundtrip airfare for two to Las Vegas courtesy of Allegiant Air. The 12th is also ISU Alumni Night with tickets as low as $10 for Iowa State Alums. For more info on this night, call 877-ISU-ALUM or 515-23-STARS. After playing the next four on the road, the Stars return on December 22nd. The Dec. 22nd game is a 4 for $40 night. Get four $21 tickets for only $40! In addition, the first 1,000 fans will receive a FREE Iowa Stars Santa hat. Doors open for all home games one hour before face-off. Bring a group or hold your child's birthday at a Stars game!
