DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced this morning that the National Hockey League's (NHL) Dallas Stars have recalled Center Joel Lundqvist from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in Iowa.

A native of Are, Sweden, Lundqvist is in his first professional season in North America. In 24 games with Iowa, the 24-year-old is currently tied with Junior Lessard with a team-leading 24 points, including a team-high 14 assists: 24(7/14/21). He has five multiple point games.

Prior to coming to North America, he played in 253 career regular season games with Frolunda of the Swedish Elite League. While with the Goteborg-based club, he registered 55 goals, 82 assists, and 541 penalty minutes: 253(55/82/137)541.

Selected by the Dallas Stars with their third selection in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, he notched his first North American pro goal against Houston on October 8th, 2006.

His identical twin brother Henrik is currently playing goal for the New York Rangers. The Lundqvist's might have a chance to play against each other for the first time in their careers, as the Dallas Stars and New York Rangers are scheduled to play each other in Dallas on December 14th.

IOWA STARS INFO: The Stars hit the road again for another game against the Chicago Wolves. Iowa will play the Wolves in Rosemont, Illinois on Tuesday, December 5th. They then return home to Wells Fargo Arena for a Tuesday, December 12th game against those same Wolves. On Tuesday the 12th, as part of Getaway Tuesdays, the Stars will be giving away a FREE roundtrip airfare for two to Las Vegas courtesy of Allegiant Air.
