Peoria Chiefs News Release

Peoria, Ill. - The Chiefs held the Beloit Snappers scoreless through the first four innings but a six-run fifth gave the Snappers a lead they did not relinquish en route to a 6-2 win on Thursday.

The Chiefs took an early lead in the first inning for the second night in a row. After a Jhon Torres double began the night, Malcolm Nunez followed with a double of his own to give Peoria a 1-0 lead. Nunez later scored on a throwing error to give Peoria a 2-0 advantage.

Peoria starter Connor Lunn was sharp through four innings but ran into some trouble in the fifth. With two on and two out, Kameron Misner drove in a run to cut the Peoria lead to 2-1. The next four men reached for Beloit and they took a 6-2 lead, a margin that became the final score.

The Chiefs will look to bounce back tomorrow behind right-hander Michael Yasenka. Bryan Hoeing will start for Beloit. First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m.
