
Sisco, Bierfeldt Lead Birds to 10-4 Win in Series Finale

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Conor Bierfeldt and Chance Sisco combined to drive in seven runs as Delmarva topped the BlueClaws 10-4 on Sunday afternoon at FirstEnergy Park.
Bierfeldt, who hit a grand slam on Friday, hit a two-run double in the 5th inning off Lakewood's Tyler Viza, following an intentional walk to Sisco, to put the Shorebirds up 5-3. Sisco, who is hitting over .430 against the BlueClaws, added a three-run double in the 8th inning off Matt Hockenberty to extend a 5-4 lead to 8-4.
Delmarva (14-11/52-42) won the final three games of the series after the BlueClaws (8-17/35-59) won the opener on Thursday. Lakewood is now 24 games under .500 for the first time this year.
Viza (3-13) took the loss, allowing five runs/four earned in five innings of work. Mitch Horacek (5-8) earned the win, allowing four runs in six innings. At one point, he retired 15 straight BlueClaws.
Lakewood was held to five hits - one each by Carlos Tocci, Andrew Pullin, Willians Astudillo, Samuel Hiciano, and Dylan Cozens, Andrew Knapp, who had his 15-game hitting streak snapped on Saturday, drew two walks.
The BlueClaws head to Hickory and open a three-game series there on Tuesday night. LHP Yoel Mecias (--) will make his BlueClaws season debut and will be followed in the rotation by RHP Jon Prosinski and RHP Yacksel Rios.
