PREVIEW: The Shorebirds finally won in relaxing fashion without any late-inning drama. After four consecutive one-run games, Delmarva turned an early deficit into a blowout. The Shorebirds scored six runs in the fifth, and three more in the seventh to coast to a 9-2 final score. Janser Severino pitched nicely in his Shorebirds' debut.

TODAY'S OPPONENT: Tyler Viza will pitch the series finale for the Lakewood BlueClaws. Viza sports a 3-12 record, leading the South Atlantic League in losses. The right-hander has compiled a 5.06 ERA in his 17 starts, losing 10 of his last 11 starts, including twice to the Shorebirds. From May 14th to June 28th, Viza lost nine consecutive starts. The Philadelphia Phillies drafted Viza in the 32nd round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of high school in Phoenix.

19TH SEASON: The 2014 season marks the 19th season of Shorebirds baseball on the Eastern Shore and 18th straight year as a Baltimore Orioles affiliate. The Shorebirds' first season was 1996 as a Montreal Expos farm team.

ORIOLES WATCH: The Baltimore Orioles lost 3-0 to the New York Yankees, evening up the serie at one game apiece. Rookie Shane Greene tossed 7 1/3 shutout innings in the victory for New York, outdueling Chris Tillman. Still, the O's have a 3 game hold on 1st place in the AL East, guarantee- ing a first place standing at the All-Star Break for the first time since 1997.

THE IRON IS HOT: 19 out of the 25 players on the Shorebirds active roster appeared for the Ab- erdeen IronBirds in 2013. The IronBirds put together an impressive season, making the playoffs for the first time in their 12-year franchise history. Aberdeen won the McNamara Division in the New York-Penn League with a 40-32 record. The IronBirds lost in the first round of the NYPL play- offs, losing 2 games to 0 against the Tri-City Valley Cats.

GREGORY LORENZO | OF

The Shorebirds outfielder has raised up his game since the All-Star Break. Lorenzo is hitting .333 in 22 games in the second half, compared to .243 in the first half. His on-base percentage is .393, up from .303 in the first half. Lorenzo already has 13 RBIs since the break, which is more than the 11 RBIs he collected in 62 games before the All-Star Game.

WHO'S HOT - GARRETT CORTRIGHT

Since allowing a home run to Trey Michalcze- wski during his Shorebirds' debut, Cortright has not allowed another run. His last appear- ance was three perfect innings of relief vs. West Virginia for his first hold.

WHO ELSE - CHANCE SISCO

Since the All-Star Break, Chance Sisco has been otherworldly. The Shorebirds catcher is batting .415 (39-for-94) in 22 games in the second half. Sisco is now 1st in the SAL with a .347 batting average.
