Lincoln Saltdogs News Release
NEWARK, N.J. -- Brandon Sinnery was magnificent, tossing his second consecutive shutout as the Saltdogs (38-53) blanked the Newark Bears (31-61) 9-0 in an interleague game at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium Friday night.
Sinnery did not allow a hit after the leadoff man in the third, and sent down the final 15 men he faced. The 22-year old gave up just two hits with two walks and struck out eight to pick up his fifth win in six starts as a Saltdog.
Lincoln scored three runs in the first and held a 6-0 lead after four innings.
Jimmy Rohan had a huge night at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a sacrifice fly and three RBI. Matt Forgatch, Bryan Pounds and A.J. Miller each turned in multi-hit nights as well.
Sinnery scattered six hits in a shutout of the Amarillo Sox last Sunday at Haymarket Park.
The clubs are back at it Saturday night at 5:35 p.m. for game two of the three-game series. Justin Edwards (4-7, 5.33) will be on the mound for Lincoln. Radio coverage begins at 5:05 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
