Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen's four game win streak came to an end Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome, falling to the Everett Silvertips 6-4.

Everett would start the game with two back-to-back power play goals just under five minutes apart to gain an early lead. Carter Yakemchuk would kick off his multi-point night, slipping one five hole on goaltender Ethan Chadwick off a dish from Chase Valliant to make it 2-1.

Everett would start the second period in a similar fashion, netting two goals just 20 seconds apart to increase their lead to three. Yakemchuk would have an answer less than two minutes later finding the net for his second of the game. With under five minutes to go in the period, Calgary was awarded their first power play of the game where they were able to capitalize with Tyson Greenway scoring in tight for his third of the season to put the home team within one. Everett would score once more before the end of the second, restoring their two-goal lead.

Another power play opportunity returned momentum to Calgary at the seven-minute mark of the final frame. Sean Tschigerl tipped a shot from Carter Yakemchuk to make it 5-4 heading into the final minutes. With Ethan Buenaventura on the bench, a final push from Calgary was interrupted with an empty net goal to secure the win for Everett.

Everett outshot Calgary 45-41 and received their goals from Austin Roest (2g), Jesse Heslop, Carter Bear (2) and Eric Jamieson.

Ethan Buenaventura made 39 saves in tonight's contest. Both Carter Yakemchuk (2g,2a) and Sean Tschigerl (1g) extended their point streaks to seven games. Yakemchuk earned first star with his impressive four-point performance.

Calgary returns to the ice Sunday, Nov. 5 when they welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors to the Scotiabank Saddledome for a 6:00 p.m. start. Tickets are available at HitmenHockey.com.
