Saskatoon Blades News Release
There's getting back into the win column, and then there's dominating your way back into the win column.
The Saskatoon Blades offence erupted Thursday at the Art Hauser Center defeating the Prince Albert Raiders 7-2.
Six different Blades had multi-point nights, led by forward Egor Sidorov who earned first star honours with a goal and assist. After scoring five goals in their last three games, the Blades dropped four in the third period alone.
Sophomore netminder Austin Elliott was solid between the pipes as usual stopping 26 shots. The 6-foot-2 netminder's record is now 7-3-0-0.
Serving as interim head coach while Brennan Sonne is away at U17s with Hockey Canada, Associate Coach Dan Da Silva earned his first career win in his head-coaching debut.
It's a massive win for the Blades who snapped a three-game losing skid, and remain in the hunt for the top spot in the Eastern Conference with 18 points, just two behind the first place Moose Jaw Warriors.
NEXT GAME: The Blades return home for two games at SaskTel Centre this weekend.
First is a battle between two of the CHL's top teams when the Prince George Cougars visit Friday for Military Appreciation Night! It's the first time Cougars visit Saskatoon since Jan. 11th, 2020.
Puck drop is 7:00pm.
Next is the biggest birthday party in the WHL as the Blades mascot PokeCheck turns 364 years old!
All our Yeti wants is a victory as the Blades host the Regina Pats for a 4:00pm puck drop.
