The Everett Silvertips started the month of February on a fantastic note with two straight victories to start the month. The Silvertips are heading into this week with a 3 game winning streak and a record of 24-21-6-2 (56 points) good for 2nd place in the U.S. Division.

WHO'S HOT

Alex Leavitt (12 goals, 30 assists) leads the Silvertips in scoring with 42 points. Torrie Wheat (19 goals, 20 assists) is 2nd on the hockey club in scoring with 39 points. Wheat leads the hockey club with 19 goals and is tied for 7th in the WHL with 11 power play goals. Alex Leavitt leads the Silvertips with 30 assists. Silvertips defenseman Shaun Heshka (7 goals, 19 assists) is tied for 3rd in on the team in scoring and leads all Silvertips defensemen in scoring. Rookie forward Brady Calla leads the Silvertips with a +/- rating of +9. In goal Michael Wall is 5th in the WHL in Goals Against Average (2.04), 4th in Save Percentage (.924) and tied for 1st in the WHL with 9 shutouts. Rookie Leland Irving has posted some good numbers in his first full season in the WHL. Irving has compiled a record of 5-7-1 with a 1.89 Goals Against Average and a Save Percentage of .927.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

This week's player of the week is Silvertips goaltender Michael Wall. Wall went 2-0 last week and only allowed one goal in 2 games. Wall picked up his league leading 9th shutout of the season against Seattle last Saturday night. Wall made 40 saves on 41 shots in two games (.976).

WHEAT AND LOVE 7 POINTS SHY OF 100 Torrie Wheat and Mitch Love have each tallied 93 points in their WHL career. Currently Love has added 31 goals and 62 assists in his career and Wheat has scored 41 goals and added 52 assists in his WHL career.

SILVERTIPS SPECIAL TEAMS

The Everett Silvertips are currently 6th in the WHL on the power play (51 for 278, 18.3%) and 3rd in the WHL on the penalty kill (178 of 204, 87.3%).

EVERETT SILVERTIPS HOCKEY SHOW TONIGHT Tonight is another edition of the Everett Silvertips Hockey Show from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on North Sound 1380 ESPN Radio. Keith Gerhart will have many guests from the Silvertips and the WHL. Calls are welcome from fans as well. SAFETY NIGHT AT THE EVERETT EVENTS CENTER

The Everett Silvertips and the Everett Events Center present Safety Night on Wednesday, February 9 when the Silvertips battle the Kelowna Rockets at the Everett Events Center. Following the game a fire drill will take place at the Everett Events Center where fans will be asked to exit the arena through designated fire exits.

Throughout the night local police and emergency personnel will be available to provide safety information educating fans about different safety issues. Also, the Everett Police Department Choir will sing the National Anthem prior to the game.

Back by popular demand is the second annual Everett Silvertips Trading Card Night presented by Edward Jones Investments. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a complete trading card set of the 2004-05 Everett Silvertips.
